Ohio severe weather data — state map card, hail and wind history for the last 12 months

Ohio severe weather at a glance (last 12 months)

StormAuditor's consolidated public record currently shows 9,371 storm events impacting 88 of Ohio's 88 counties in the trailing 12 months: 4,353 wind events, 3,105 hail events, 279 tornado events, 1,634 flood events. Events are fused from National Weather Service warnings and Special Weather Statements, observed Local Storm Reports, official NCEI storm records, and FEMA disaster declarations, then consolidated into a single event table under the published methodology. Because a single storm can carry more than one hazard tag (a squall line can produce both wind and flood records), the per-type counts can legitimately add up to more than the consolidated total. Sub-severe statements (radar-indicated gusts of 40+ mph or hail of 0.5"+) are included at a distinct moderate tier and never counted as severe.

Research a specific Ohio address

Statewide counts tell you where activity concentrated; they do not tell you what happened at one property. For an individual address, run the Free Report Snapshot (an instant YES/NO against StormAuditor's screening thresholds — wind ≥ 45 mph, hail ≥ 0.75 in., deliberately below the official NWS severe criteria), use the Address Lookup, or purchase a full Weather Report for $2.99 covering every qualifying storm date at the address. Browse day-by-day activity on the Storm Calendar or compare states on the Storm Data hub.

All values are derived from public NOAA and NWS data under StormAuditor's published methodology. They are research estimates, not certified weather records — see Limitations. Data last refreshed September 6, 2026.
