What this license covers

This page is the license reference for the aggregated storm datasets published on StormAuditor's state and city storm-history pages — the deduplicated event counts, biggest-storm-day lists, and county totals derived from public weather records.

Underlying public records

The underlying source records — NOAA and National Weather Service warnings, Local Storm Reports, ASOS/AWOS station observations, MRMS radar products, URMA/RTMA analyses, NCEI Storm Events, and FEMA declarations — are U.S. government works in the public domain. They are listed with links on the data sources page and can always be obtained directly from the agencies.

Reusing StormAuditor's aggregations

StormAuditor's deduplicated aggregations, derived statistics, and page content may be quoted and reused free of charge for personal research, journalism, academic work, and claim documentation, with attribution to StormAuditor (stormauditor.com) and a link to the page the data came from. Values are estimates produced under the published methodology — cite them as estimates, not as certified weather records. Systematic bulk extraction or republication of the datasets as a competing database is not permitted; the Terms of Service govern use of the site.
