Live radar, warnings, outlooks, and satellite on one free map
The live radar loop plays the last two hours of the national NEXRAD composite — every WSR-88D radar in the network merged into one reflectivity mosaic — in ten-minute frames — and when short-term projection frames are available from the public feed, extends ahead with a clearly FUTURE-badged extrapolation of current storm motion (never a forecast of new development). Active NWS warning polygons (tornado warning, severe thunderstorm warning, flash flood warning and more) draw over the radar straight from the National Weather Service alerts API, refresh every two minutes, and are listed beside the map — tap any warning to zoom to it. A live GOES-19 satellite deck shows GeoColor, clean infrared, and water vapor views from NOAA/NESDIS STAR, and dropping a pin or using your location adds the nearest-station conditions (temperature, wind and gusts, humidity) with a one-tap jump to the full 7-day forecast. An Outlook toggle shades the official SPC Day-1 categorical severe weather outlook (marginal through high risk) under the radar.
Replay any storm day back to 2012
Replay mode plays the archived national composite for any date back to 2012 in the same five-minute steps — all 288 frames of a storm day, scrubbable and animated. It is the radar movie behind the mapped results on the Storm Map Dashboard: watch the storm develop on radar, then open the same date there for the hail sizes and peak gusts alongside ground reports and warnings, or run a free address lookup to see what reached a specific property under the published methodology.
Free for everyone
Live radar, warnings, satellite, and full-day replay are free with no account — built entirely on public NOAA, NWS, and NEXRAD feeds, documented on Data Sources.
