The date of loss problem

Claims routinely arrive with an uncertain or contested date of loss. The date of loss workflow and DOL Database rank every candidate storm date for a state or address from deduplicated NWS warnings, observed storm reports, and station measurements — shortlist the plausible dates first, then pull per-address evidence with Weather On This Date or a full Weather Report.

Insurance claim weather, documented

A per-address Weather Report lists every qualifying storm date with the estimated maximum hail size and estimated peak wind gust at the property, the nearest measured evidence with distances, NWS warnings in effect, and the methodology version — as a web report and PDF. Values are estimates from public NOAA data, labeled as such, with limitations stated plainly — which is exactly what makes the document useful when someone on the other side checks it. StormAuditor never determines damage, causation, or coverage.
